SUMMARY:NAHB Midyear Board of Directors Meeting
DESCRIPTION:Fellow NAHB leadership team members\, it's time to begin preparing for our 2016 Midyear Board of Directors Meeting and related events. Our inaugural Midyear Meeting will be held Aug. 8 - 11\, 2016 at the Fontainebleau Resort in Miami Beach\, Fla. I certainly hope that you can join us for this very important gathering\, and I strongly encourage you to let us know you plan to attend by registering today at nahb.org/midyear.\n\nOur national association has been working hard on a wide range of issues that affect the housing industry. These issues include EPA's new Waters of the U.S. rule\, OSHA's crystalline silica regulation\, the Federal Flood Risk Management Standard\, building codes\, EPA's lead paint rule\, and several labor issues\, including a proposed rule expanding overtime and another that makes it nearly impossible for employers to consult privately with legal counsel when facing union organizing.\n\nI want to thank you for your support on these and other important advocacy efforts. But we cannot rest. In this election year it is critical that we support pro-housing and pro-business candidates for federal office. Tax reform\, housing finance\, immigration and many other critical issues may be in play for the next Congress. NAHB's professional staff works hard\, and they need guidance from members as they seek to advance the industry's agenda in an evolving political climate.\n\nThe residential construction industry has strengthened greatly over the last five years\, but this is no time to ease up off the accelerator. Your participation as a member of NAHB's leadership team is vital to the continued success of our association\, our members and our businesses. I look forward to seeing you in Miami Beach this August\, and again\, please visit nahb.org/midyear as soon as possible to confirm your planned attendance. Should you have questions about the logistics of the upcoming meeting\, please contact the NAHB Exhibitions and Meetings Group at (800) 368-5242 x8181.\n\nBest regards\,\n\nEd Brady\n\n2016 NAHB Chairman
